Summary:
The Senior Project/Program Manager has end-to-end responsibility for large, high risk, high revenue projects with vast scope. Responsibilities include: providing leadership and direction to a team throughout the planning, organizing, staffing, evaluation, direction and control of a project/program from inception to completion. This position is accountable for ensuring the accurate, on-time completion of all project/program deliverables within budget.

 Major Activities:

·         Facilitate interfaces between the business units, internal business partners and the customer.

·         Integrate diverse organizational goals and coordinate the needed vision, direction and execution of complex projects/programs.

·         Develop a unique, custom-tailored strategy outlining the project/program management process for the customer.

·         Oversee the development of business proposals.

·         Create and deliver proposals to potential customers.

·         Provide overall leadership in the integration of specific sets of products and/or services.

·         Acquire resources needed to complete business proposals and meet project/program needs.

·         Identify current and future business opportunities and develop strategies to explore areas of potential.

·         Provide financial oversight of multiple projects/programs to facilitate billing, reporting, tracking of costs and forecasting.

·         Resolve any outstanding issues and offer strategic solutions for the future.

·         Foster strong working relationships with business units internal to Lucent and with external project/program vendors and suppliers.

·         Maintain ultimate accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of all project/program deliverables.

 Challenges:
The Senior Project/Program Manager often oversees projects/programs that are considered to be highly strategic in nature and are of significant value to the success of Lucent. The successful management of these projects/programs could offer Lucent opportunities for new product deployment, critical corporate alliances and the opportunity to improve the company's competitive position in the market.

 Knowledge, Experience & Competency:
This position requires a minimum of 10 years project management experience and a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree is preferred and Project Management Professional Certification is required. Familiarity with Lucent contracting principles and acquisition practices and regulations is necessary. Must be computer literate with demonstrated presentation skills, budget skills, multi-tasking skills, analytical ability and logistics management experience. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required. The incumbent is expected to be up-to-date on the latest technological products and services offered by Lucent and it's competitors. The Senior Project Manager must possess the ability to think out-of-the-box while being achievement oriented.
